Faith, Family and happiness

Hi everyone! After turning 50 years of age recently (wow, time really does fly), I’ve come to the realization that happiness for me comes from my faith, family, profession and hobbies (and yes, pretty much in that order of importance). Here’s a quick glimpse into my thoughts on those four areas, but feel free to explore my website for more details.

In regard to my faith, I have enjoyed being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have found that being a member has allowed me to grow closer to God, find peace and happiness in my life, and feel a sense of purpose. Some of my greatest friendships and experiences in life have come through worshipping and serving others in the Church. And, there’s no place I’d rather be on Sunday with my family.

The most satisfactory accomplishment for my wife Molly and I has been the birth and raising of our seven children, Monica, Megan, Maxwell, Mitch, Madeline, Milton and Mary.  I’m not sure life has been easy for any of us, but we have learned that the greatest lessons in life have been learned at home.

Public Transit has been a satisfying profession to support our growing family, and to serve the communities where we have lived.  Hallmarks of my time in public service have been hard work, embracing change and innovation, and compassion.  I’m currently enjoying my tenure as the CEO of the Golden Empire Transit District in Bakersfield. You can check out more about my career on my Linkedin page.

Finally, I’m always happiest when I have a balance in life that includes a hobby or two.  My hobbies have largely centered around playing golf, hiking and fly fishing. Additionally, Molly and I learned to ride motorcycles in 2021, and can often be found riding Harleys on the weekends.  These hobbies have kept me young at heart and healthy and have been a fun way to do things with my family both as a whole and individually with children. I hope there’s something in my website that you will find worthwhile.  Perhaps cause you to smile or to contemplate.  If you would like to follow me on a regular basis, visit my social media pages. Additionally, you can check back for new information on this website.

The greatest lessons in life are learned at home.

Enjoy!
